Prayer Requests

Please forgive my overlooking my post yesterday, I have been knee deep in writing the Bible study for my Bereaved Mother's Group in the fall.

Please, be in prayer for this with me, and especially for the protection of my home, my family and this ministry as I proceed forward. Pray for God's hedge of protection to be about me and to grant me wisdom for the use of equipping women in their grief.

Dear Lord,

I have no words. I am in awe of You. You part seas and mend fences, you lift the dead from the grave and cause the blind to see. You, Oh Lord, are gracious to Your servants and we honor You alone. Lord be with each woman who visits and reads the words you have given me to post. Help us to walk through this dark season on the arm of Christ and to find victory in the days ahead. You are God and we adore You. Bless us indeed.

In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

This week's passage is from John 3:16 - I will post a pretty quote box by Thursday! "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever should believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life."

Heart to Heart Connections

I promised to deliver the word about a blessing that is coming and it is beginning to arrive.
My friend, GratefulinGA, has agreed to share with us here at Heart to Heart so you will be reading about her daughter Lauren and her journey through the valley of the shadow of death here as the days move ahead.
.
Please read about her grief journey and her precious girl, Lauren, in her first post: big time glue. Be sure to leave her a comment by way of welcome and join us by sharing with us about your children as you read along.
.
Many blessing to all and a great big praise to our Great God for bringing in the sheaves.
Much love to you all, and especially to our new friend.
.
Dearest Lord and Father,
.
I pray you would wrap your arms around each woman who comes here to read, to share her story and to grow in grace and healing along the way. My prayer is especially for our friend in Georgia, Lauren's mom. Thank you for sending her to join us in our heart to heart journey. I pray we all find a heart connection with one another, Lord, but most of all with YOU. You are our hope, our strength and our strong. The joy of our lives and the promise of the future. Thank you for your faithfulness and testimonies that declare You so. I am honored and blessed to bear witness to Your mercy and grace in the lives of others every day. Bless them all Lord, Bless them indeed.
.
In Jesus' sweet and precious name I pray. Amen.

June 10, 2008 - Prayer Requests

PLEASE: Forgive my late posting. Yesterday, gloriously was my oldest daughter's High School graduation and we were busy, busy, busy. Please pray and respond to this week's verse of Scripture for Thought Filled Thursdays.

This week I am asking for prayer for the meeting I have with church pastors regarding my grief/transformation group for Bereaved Mothers on June 19th and June 26th. Please pray for favor, for our ideas and desires to be in sync. Also, pray for our families finances and for God to bless and restore us from the years the locusts have eaten.

Lord, I ask that you be mighty in the circumstances of those who come to read and learn and share their stories here. I ask Lord, that You would find us faithful to our calling and that You would bring comfort, peace and love to those who are hurting over the loss of their children this week. Lord, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. I pray none of us would find ourselves making idols of our children or Heaven and so being distracted from the Comforter and the God of all Comfort who brings forth healing and joy for the ashes and pain of death. You alone are God and we praise You both in the good times and the bad. In Jesus Name we ask these things, Amen.

Please consider the following verse of Scripture and how it reflects the season of grief that you are in:

* Do you find yourself in the midst of a time when your eyes cannot focus on the daily details of life much less where God is in the middle of all your pain? Yes/No and explain.

* How have you found grief to be physically, emotionally and mentally exhausting?

* What helps you to get through those times?

Weighing the Word Postponed... Please Continue to Pray

With everything going on this week's Weighing the Word post is getting shuffled to next week. I just need to fast and pray today. I know that our family is undergoing an extreme period of testing right now - immediate and extended.

My cousin is having to make some tough decision regarding her finances and her husband's funeral this week. Her son is struggling with all of the Senior Year activities he is having to rearrange, cancel or make alternate plans to participate in this week. And this morning after we offered what we could to my cousin in support yesterday... The full weight of this week is upon us. We have housing payment due this coming week, my girls each have summer college tuition due by Sunday, and to top it off this morning the car is not running as it should be. This and we are just coming out of paying our taxes...

Oh, the joy of it all. (I'm really not being sarcastic... Last night I was telling my cousin we just have to trust God and His plan even when things don't look the way we think they should.... Talk about a test!) This is a test, this is only a test.

So, I'm enlisting my friends, my Sisters-in-"Arms" and my prayer warriors to go to battle for us this morning - Praying in Agreement. We are in desperate need of relief and an answer in so many ways.

Lord, we trust in You - the God who is Provision - and we surrender our own will and ideas of how this should work out to you. You alone are good and You alone have the solution to our problems to be sure. We believe that You will act, You will not delay and that Your provision will be sufficient to meet every need emotionally, spiritually, mentally and physically. That's just the kind of God You are and You always take care of Your own. Thank you for always hearing and answering our prayers, Lord God. We will trust in You. We will trust in You. In Christ's name I pray, Amen.

All have arrived safely...

Hey all...

Thanks so much for your prayers. Some have been answered while some are being answered even now and still some are left to be answered in the future. You have blessed us all.

The family has arrived back home safely and now the planning, arranging and preparing for our final goodbyes begins. Please pray for God's favor and blessing during this difficult time.

I just realized this nugget of truth: "When thinks don't make sense I have to trust God more. His plan is always to bring us good for His glory. I just have to remember that God sees things that I can't and He has never, ever failed me before." Never. He is with us now. Thanks again for praying. Love You All.

Okay... So That Response Was Unexpected

Oh YA'LL! I've been bringing in comments from my Where Have All The Bloggers Gone post and realized that it sounded like I was lonely here. I had also noticed that many of the blogs I frequent also are not entertaining as many posts.

I too make the rounds but don't always comment because of time restraint. But, I do love reading... reading... reading what you all write.

I loved the comments and appreciate the response. Especially the one that began, "Arf..."

You guys rock!

On a more serious note, our family is in a state of shock and grief right now. Yesterday morning my cousin found her young (just over 40) husband dead in their home. They have a son graduating from high school in a few weeks and a nine year old boy going into the third grade next year... So, there is much prayer needed. Please petition God on our behalf for comfort, mercy and peace for my cousin and her sons as well as our extended family. Also pray for provision, funeral arrangements and the many things that need to be done in the next few weeks. God's will be done. Thanks for praying and lifting us up. You really do rock!
